WHY ZENMED
Why people choose ZenMed Advisors for Medicare
We work in your language. Fully bilingual, English and Spanish — for you and for the family members helping you decide.
We're independent. We're not captive to any single insurance company. We compare carriers and recommend what actually fits you — and our help is free, because carriers compensate us when you enroll.
We don't pressure you. No rushed decisions, no follow-up calls you didn't ask for. If now isn't the right time, we'll send you a free guide and check back when you tell us to.
We're a family-run practice. Co-founded by licensed agents Floribel Merced and Berenice Suarez, we understand caregiving, life transitions, and the feeling of being handed a 47-page Medicare booklet with no one to explain it. We built ZenMed Advisors to be the opposite of that.
SPECIAL ENROLLMENT PERIOD
Are you eligible for a Special Enrollment Period?
Life changes — and your Medicare coverage can change with it.
If you've recently moved, lost other health coverage, or experienced certain qualifying events, you may be eligible for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP). This gives you a limited-time window to:
-
Make changes to your Medicare Advantage or Part D drug plan
-
Explore new options that better fit your current needs
-
Avoid waiting until the next Annual Enrollment Period
The changes you can make depend on your situation — and timing matters.

UNDERSTANDING MEDICARE
What is Medicare?
Medicare is a federal health insurance program for people 65 or older, and for certain younger individuals with disabilities or End-Stage Renal Disease. It's divided into several parts, each covering a different aspect of your care. Expand each section below to learn about Part A, B, C, and D.
What are Medicare Savings Programs?
Medicare Savings Programs help beneficiaries with out-of-pocket costs. Depending on your income and resources, your state may help pay your Part A and Part B premiums — and in many cases your deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments too. If money is a concern, ask us whether you qualify.
When should I enroll?
There are four enrollment windows:
-
Initial Enrollment Period (IEP) — 7 months, starting 3 months before you turn 65
-
General Enrollment Period (GEP) — January 1 to March 31, for those who missed their initial window
-
Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) — October 15 to December 7, to change existing plans
-
Special Enrollment Period (SEP) — for qualifying life events like losing employer coverage
